HELPFUL INFORMATION BEFORE BOOKING OR ATTENDING A SESSION

WHAT IS A GONG RESONANCE SESSION?

A gong resonance session is a sound-based experience in which the gong creates a field of sound and vibration that the body and nervous system respond to naturally.

As the sound unfolds, the system may begin to soften, settle, process, and move toward greater balance, coherence, and resonance.

Each session is different. Some people experience deep rest, some notice emotional or physical release, and some feel a growing sense of spaciousness, clarity, and inner quiet.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A PRIVATE SESSION?

A private session begins with time to arrive, settle, and share anything that feels important for me to know before we begin. This may include how you are feeling physically, emotionally, or energetically, any areas of tension or sensitivity, or anything you are moving through that may help guide the session with care.

From there, you will be invited to rest comfortably while I work with the gong, sound, breath, stillness, and attuned presence. The gong portion is usually around 45 minutes, with the sound shaped intentionally in relationship to the session, your sensitivity, and the state of your system.

After the gong, there is time for quiet integration. You may rest in silence, notice what has shifted, or share anything that feels helpful. The session closes gently so you have space to return slowly before leaving.

Private sessions are designed to support relaxation, nervous system regulation, embodied awareness, emotional processing, and the return to resonance.

HOW LONG IS A PRIVATE SESSION?

Private sessions are usually 90 minutes. This includes time to arrive and share, approximately 45 minutes with the gong, quiet integration afterward, and a gentle

closing before you leave.

WHY IS THE GONG PORTION USUALLY AROUND 45 MINUTES?

The gong portion is usually around 45 minutes because this gives the body and nervous system time to move beyond the first layer of settling and enter a deeper field of sound, vibration, and stillness.

In the beginning, the system is often orienting. It is listening, sensing, and adjusting to the sound field. As the session continues, the body may begin to soften, the breath may change, and attention may shift out of effort and into experience.

A continuous field of gong sound allows the process to deepen gradually. It gives the system time to receive the vibration, respond in its own way, and move through relaxation, regulation, processing, and integration.

The timing may vary depending on the person, the session, and what is being supported, but approximately 45 minutes offers a strong and spacious window for the work while still leaving time afterward for quiet integration and a gentle return.

ARE PRIVATE SESSIONS CONFIDENTIAL?

Yes. Private sessions are confidential. Anything shared before, during, or after a session is treated as private and will not be discussed or shared with others.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PRIVATE SESSION AND A GROUP GONG BATH?

A private session is shaped more specifically around you, your sensitivity, your current state, and what you are moving through. There is time to share before and after, and the sound can be approached with more individual care.

A group gong bath is a shared sound experience held for the collective field. It can still be deeply supportive, but it is less individualized than a private session.

DO I HAVE TO SHARE AFTER THE SESSION?

No. You are welcome to share after your session, but you do not have to. Some people feel called to speak, while others prefer to remain quiet and let the experience continue settling internally. Both are welcome.

DO I NEED EXPERIENCE WITH MEDITATION OR SOUND WORK?

No. You do not need prior experience.

This work is designed to be received, not mastered. You do not need to know how to meditate, understand sound work, or make anything happen during the session.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Wear comfortable clothing and bring anything that helps you rest comfortably, such as water, a blanket, pillow, or other personal support items if appropriate for the setting.

Specific details may vary depending on whether the session is private, group-based, or part of a larger event.

SHOULD I EAT BEFORE A SESSION?

A light or moderate meal is usually fine. It may be more comfortable to avoid arriving overly full.

WILL THE GONG BE LOUD?

The gong can range from soft and spacious to more powerful and immersive. In private sessions, the sound is shaped with care in relationship to your sensitivity and the needs of the session.

If you are sensitive to sound, please let me know ahead of time so the session can be approached gently.

WHAT IF MY MIND STAYS ACTIVE?

That is normal, especially in first sessions.

Some people become very still and restful quickly. Others notice a more active mind at first before the system begins to settle. A session can still be beneficial even if the mind remains active.

WHAT IF I HAVE AN EMOTIONAL RESPONSE?

Emotional responses are not automatically a sign that something is wrong.

Tears, tenderness, emotional release, or unexpected feeling states can arise when the body and nervous system begin to soften and process what has been held. These responses may be part of release, regulation, and integration.

IS IT OK TO FALL ASLEEP?

Yes. Falling asleep can be a natural and beneficial response, especially when the body is deeply tired or the nervous system is beginning to settle.

WHAT MIGHT I NOTICE AFTER A SESSION?

You may notice calm, fatigue, deeper breathing, emotional sensitivity, vivid dreams, mental clarity, physical softness, or the need for more quiet and rest afterward.

Sometimes the effects are subtle. Sometimes they continue unfolding in the hours or days after the session.

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MYSELF AFTER A SESSION?

After a session, it can be helpful to drink water, move gently, rest if possible, and give yourself some quiet time before returning to heavy stimulation or demanding activity.

Some people feel clear and energized afterward, while others feel tender, tired, or inward. Let the body have space to integrate in its own way.

WHAT IF I HAVE A HISTORY OF TRAUMA OR HIGH SENSITIVITY?

This work can still be supportive, but it is important to go gently.

Systems carrying a history of overwhelm, trauma, or high sensitivity may sometimes respond with greater emotional movement, tenderness, or deeper material arising. This does not automatically mean something is wrong, but it does mean the session should be approached with appropriate care and pacing.

Please let me know before booking or before your session if you have a history of trauma, high sensitivity, or strong responses to sound, so the experience can

be approached with appropriate support.

ARE THERE ANY HEALTH OR MEDICAL CONSIDERATIONS?

If you are pregnant, have epilepsy or a history of seizures, a pacemaker or implanted medical device, a serious medical condition, recent surgery, concussion or traumatic brain injury, sound sensitivity, severe trauma reactivity, or any condition that may affect your ability to comfortably receive sound work, please consult your healthcare provider before booking and let me know ahead of time so the session can be approached with appropriate care.

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Please arrive with enough time to settle in without feeling rushed.

Specific arrival guidance may vary depending on the type of session or event.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION OR RESCHEDULING POLICY?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so with at least 24 hours’ notice for a private session and 48 hours for groups.

Sessions canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 or 48 hours notice may be subject to the full session fee, unless there is an emergency or unexpected circumstance.

If you arrive late, the session may need to end at the originally scheduled time in order to honor the rest of the day’s schedule.

If something unexpected comes up, please reach out as soon as possible. I understand that life happens, and I will always do my best to respond with fairness and care.

IS THIS A SUBSTITUTE FOR MEDICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH CARE?

No. Fairlight Frequencies offers gong-based sound and somatic sessions for relaxation, nervous system support, embodied awareness, and personal exploration.

These sessions are not medical treatment, psychotherapy, diagnosis, or a substitute for care from a licensed healthcare provider. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental health condition.
